Practice tips
Play slowly enough that you never stop. Speed comes on its own once your hands know the moves.
Set a one-minute timer and count your clean chord switches. Try to beat that number tomorrow.
When you make up a tune, finish on a note from the band's chord. It'll sound finished.
Fingertips toughen up in two or three weeks. Short daily sessions help more than long ones.
Questions
No. Everything uses tab and chord pictures, and the lessons show you how to read them.
Any acoustic or electric guitar works, as long as it's in tune. The first lesson has a tuner that listens through your microphone.
Most people can play their first song with the backing band within a week of practising 10 minutes a day.
Look at the checklist at the end of each level in the full course. Start at the first level where you can't do everything on the list yet.
You join a video call from your computer, tablet or phone. You'll need a quiet room and a camera that shows your fretting hand. After each lesson you get a written practice plan and a recording.
Give at least 24 hours' notice and the lesson can be moved to another time for free.
Lesson 1 takes about ten minutes. It's free, runs in your browser, and doesn't need a sign-up.
